How this HSC GPA calculator works
Letter grades become grade points on the Bangladesh HSC scale below. GPA without the optional subject is the sum of the main grade points divided by how many main subjects you entered. If you add a fourth subject, only the grade points above 2.00 are included, and the divisor stays the main-subject count. The displayed GPA is that full quotient, capped at 5.00, then rounded half-up to two decimal places.
HSC grading system and grade points
The letter-to-point table matches the class intervals printed in the Dhaka Board HSC / equivalent examination 2024 result statistics book. Use the final published grade for each GPA subject.
| Class interval | Grade · গ্রেড | Grade point |
|---|---|---|
| 80–100 | A+ | 5.00 |
| 70–79 | A | 4.00 |
| 60–69 | A- | 3.50 |
| 50–59 | B | 3.00 |
| 40–49 | C | 2.00 |
| 33–39 | D | 1.00 |
| 0–32 | F | 0.00 |
HSC subjects for Science, Humanities and Business Studies
Subject rows follow the NCTB Class XI–XII subject structure for the 2026–27 academic session: three compulsory subjects (Bangla, English, ICT), three electives from the chosen group, and one optional fourth subject. Science electives are Physics, Chemistry, and either Biology or Higher Mathematics. Business Studies electives are Business Organization and Management, Accounting, and either Finance, Banking and Insurance or Production Management and Marketing. Humanities students choose three electives from the NCTB humanities list.

HSC GPA with 4th subject
A+ হলে ৩.০০, A হলে ২.
The optional subject contributes GP above 2.00: its grade point minus 2, and never less than 0. An A+ adds 3.00, an A adds 2.00, an A- adds 1.50, and a B adds 1.00. C, D, and F add nothing. That bonus is added to the main total and then divided by the number of main subjects.
Two-paper subjects and marks
Bangla and English are examined as two papers and published as one subject grade each. NCTB documents confirm paper-level mark distributions (for example English First Paper out of 100 for 2024–25), but they do not establish here how those papers are combined into the subject grade used for GPA. This calculator therefore accepts letter grades only. It does not convert paper marks or combined totals above 100.
What an entered F does
If a main subject is entered as F, the calculator status is FAIL. The average is still shown. An F in the optional subject adds no bonus and does not by itself set FAIL. Practical and paper-component rules are not applied here — only the letter you enter.
Calculator result and the official HSC result
The number on this page is a calculated result from the grades you enter. The official published result from the education board remains the authority. This is an independent HSC grade calculator for the 2026 HSC cycle subject structure, not the board’s own tool.
FAQ
How do I use an HSC GPA calculator with a 4th subject?
Enter the six main subject grades, add the optional subject, and read the bonus above 2.00. The final GPA is the main total plus that bonus, divided by six when you use the standard structure, capped at 5.00.
Can I enter marks instead of grades?
Not on this page. Enter the published letter grade for each GPA subject until an official paper-combination rule is implemented.
Is this an HSC result calculator?
It calculates GPA from grades you type. It does not retrieve or publish board results. Use the official web-based result service for the published sheet.
Does this cover HSC GPA Calculator BD / 2026 searches?
Yes — one product URL for Bangladesh HSC GPA calculation using the NCTB 2026–27 XI–XII subject structure. There is no separate year URL.
